About Us
The Band was formed on the 4th March 1869. It is felt that the band
originally was formed as a works band at a time when the iron
furnaces at Waterside were in full production. The band has always
been self supporting. Through fundraising, local authority grants and
the band's patronage scheme, the high standards of Dunaskin Doon
Band are maintained and its future ensured. Dunaskin Doon Band has
played at many venues over the years, including corporate events in
Aberdeen, weddings in Troon, galas in Strathaven, concerts in Ayr
Gaiety Theatre and contests in The Wembley Arena, Harrogate and
Cheltenham. Music of all types available from Classical to Modern,
Opera to Pop, from Marches to the Musicals.
Dunaskin Doon Band are now rehearsing in The Library Building,
2 Annbank Road, Mossblown KA6 2AP on Monday and Thursday
evenings from 19:30 - 21:30.

Our NEW REHEARSAL FACILITIES -
The Library Building 3 Annbank Road, Mossblown KA6 5BH.
We have been fortunate, with the perseverance and benevolence of South Ayrshire
Council, to procure the lease of the former Mossblown Branch Library Building to
use for our rehearsal and storage purposes.
We do hope that this will provide us with the base we need to move further forward
in the promoting of music within the community, and the sustaining of the rich
cultural heritage embedded in the Brass Band movement. This will also allow us to
provide facilities for a younger generation to be taught, trained and brought through
to the senior levels in performing with the Band and as Soloists, ensuring the Band's
existence for many years to come.
