Dunaskin Doon Band is a Registered Charity in Scotland - SC049321.
Dunaskin Doon Band are delighted to welcome our new Resident Conductor, Mr Ralph Brill, to the band family.
Ralph will work closely with Musical Director Paul Drury to take the band forward and further develop our collective techniques and skills.
Ralph has an impressive CV, having spent most of his career in military music. He is hugely passionate about brass music and has been involved in the brass band movement for the best part of 30 years both as a player and conductor.
As a player he held the Principal Cornet seat of The Redbridge Band (Championship Section) in a period of unprecedented success between 2000-2010.
He has also held seats with The GUS Footwear Band, performed regularly with Grimethorpe Colliery Band and was a founder member of the Frank Renton Brass Machine.
His conducting experience is equally impressive. As Resident Conductor of the Clacton Cooperative Band, they achieved 4th place in the London Regional Championships. This was their best result for several years.
He also currently holds the position of Bandmaster of The Highland Army Reserve Band, The Royal Regiment of Scotland. Since assuming this role in Jan 2021, Ralph oversees the leadership and rehearsal time of various chamber groups as part of the provision of musical support to the Armed Forces and wider civilian community.
Ralph is hugely passionate about music and the benefits it brings to the wellbeing of individuals and groups within society.
The band are extremely excited about working with Ralph going forward, and believe that his ethos and leadership style will be a perfect fit with Paul.
